Q1) How do I obtain a RAC certificate for a previously attended meeting?
A1) Please provide the date of the meeting you attended. Upon confirmation of your attendance, we will provide you with a copy of the RAC certificate for that meeting. Allow 3-4 weeks for processing of your request.
Q2) What type of certification is available?
A2) ORCA provides credits that can be applied towards Regulatory Affairs Certification. If a different type of certification is required, please contact us. [These should be directed to the President and Lead Program Co-chair.]
Q3) How do I obtain a copy of meeting hand-outs no longer posted on the website (this would be for members and nonmembers who have paid the meeting fee)?
A3) Please provide the date of the meeting you attended. Upon confirmation of your membership or attendance, we will provide you with a copy of the meeting handouts. Allow 3-4 weeks for processing of your request.
Q4) What should I do if a meeting registration is closed?
A4) Space is limited to a first come, first served. For regular monthly meetings, you can check with the registration desk on the day of the meeting and inquire as to availability. Space is limited to a first come, first served.

Q5) When will I know that my ORCA membership registration has been received?
A5) Upon submission of the annual membership registration form and fee, please allow 3-4 weeks for processing of payment and notification via USPS of membership welcome letter and membership card. If you have not received this information after 4 weeks, please send an email query to info@orcanw.org
Q6) What are the benefits of ORCA membership?
A6) The annual membership fee provides members to attend all regular monthly meeting free of charge, obtain a copy of the presentation materials, as well as serve as a networking opportunity. A continental breakfast is served as well. Special membership rates apply for special meetings, including the Annual Social usually held in September of each year.
Q7) How do I know that I've been registered for a regular meeting?
A7) If you submitted your registration request by the date indicated on the meeting announcement, usually the Thursday prior to the scheduled meeting date, ORCA will send a confirmatory email prior to the meeting date (usually 2 days prior to the scheduled meeting date). If you do not receive a confirmatory email and you requested registration, please send an email query to info@orcanw.org. If you didn’t preregister, you can check with the registration desk on the day of the meeting and inquire as to availability. Space is limited to a first come, first served.
Q8) What types of membership are available and what are the corresponding rates?
A8) Currently there are two classes of membership available: Regular and Student/Government Employee. [A student is defined as a person engaged in full or part time studies at an accredited institution.] The annual rates for the 2010-2011 year are:
Regular: $125
Student/Government: $75
Q9) Is there a prorated membership rate for the membership year?
A9) A prorated membership fee is under review for the 2011-2012 year. This information will be made available at such time that a determination has been made by the ORCA Board.

Q11) How do I obtain more information regarding ORCA?
A11) ORCA was established to provide a venue to educate people in the Pacific Northwest about regulatory, quality, clinical, regulatory and other issues in the biologics, biotechnical, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries, and to provide a forum for members to exchange information and experiences. ORCA operates exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. Q13) How do I register for a regular monthly meeting?
A13) Please contact info@orcanw.org or leave a voice message at 206.464.0825, providing your name and contact information, including both email and phone number. If you are an ORCA member, there is no charge to attend these monthly meetings. If you are not an ORCA member, a $60 registration fee will apply. Payment can be made on the day of the meeting via check, cash or credit card (there is a $5 fee for credit card charges).
Q14) If I decide to join ORCA following a regular meeting for which I’ve paid the $60 registration fee, can the registration fee be applied to the annual membership?
A14) Yes, provided the remainder of the membership fee for the current year and the completed membership form is post-marked not later than 30 days from the regular meeting date (at which the $60 registration fee was paid). [For the 2010-2011 year, this would be an additional $65.]
Q15) What volunteer opportunities are available to support ORCA?
