MEMBERSHIP 
1. How do I obtain more information regarding ORCA?
ORCA was established to provide a venue to educate people in the Pacific Northwest about regulatory, quality, clinical, regulatory and other issues in the biologics, biotechnical, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries, and to provide a forum for members to exchange information and experiences. ORCA operates exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. If you would like additional information, please submit your request to info@orcanw.org Please allow 1-2 weeks for a response.

2. What are the benefits of joining ORCA? 
Your membership in ORCA brings with it these valuable benefits:
  •   Complimentary admittance to regularly scheduled meetings.
  •   Discounted admittance fee for special seminars that are ORCA sponsored.
  •   Opportunities to network with fellow regulatory and clinical associates.
  •   Timely information sharing with guest speakers and local and nationally experts and government representatives.
  •   Library of archived ORCA meeting presentations.
  •   ORCA Member Directory.
  •   ORCA Member Job Listing Bulletin Board and External Resources.

*NOTE: Special membership rates apply for special meetings, including the Annual Social usually held in September of each year.

3. What types of membership are available and what are the corresponding rates?
ORCA currently offers two classes of membership: Regular and Student/Government Employee. A student is defined as a person engaged in full or part time studies at an accredited institution. 
The annual rates for the 2014-2015 membership year are:
Regular: $125
Student/Government: $75

4. Is there a prorated membership rate for the membership year?
Prorated membership rates are usually made available between May and July. ORCA's membership year runs from August 1st of the current year to July 31st of the following year. 

5. How do I become an ORCA member?
Please visit us at http://www.orcanw.org/joinORCA.html to fill out the Membership Application Form. Credit cards* are accepted online. Please make Checks or Money Orders payable to ORCA and remit payment to:

*NOTE: All credit card transactions will be charged a $5.00 processing fee.

*NOTE: If the membership application was filled under a different name than the card holder's, please include this information under "NOTE TO SELLER". 

A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided on your application form within 24 hours. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of your new ID card via USPS.

6. If I decide to join ORCA following a monthly meeting for which I have paid the $60 registration fee, can the registration fee be applied toward the the annual membership?
Yes, provided the remainder of the membership fee for the current membership year and the completed membership form is post-marked no later than 30 days from the regular meeting date.

7. When will I know that my ORCA membership application has been received?
A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided on your application form within 48 hours. If we are unable to contact you using the preferred email address in your application form, we will try your alternate email address. If we are unable to contact you via email, the ORCA Administrative Assistant will contact you using the phone number provided on your form.

8. When will I receive my ORCA ID Card?
A. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of your new ID card via USPS.

9. My company paid for my ORCA fee, will I loose my membership if I move to another company?
ORCA memberships are for individuals only, and are non-transferable.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
1. Where do I find information about current ORCA meetings?
Please check ORCA's online calendar at http://www.orcanw.org/calendar.html for information on past, current and upcoming meetings.

2. What are the meeting fees for regular monthly meetings?
The current 2014/2015 fees for regular monthly meetings are as follows:
  • ORCA Members: No charge
  • Non-Members: $60.00

3. How do I register for a regular monthly meeting?
You can register for a monthly meeting online by clicking on the "Register for this Meeting" button under the information page for the specific meeting you are planning to attend.

4. How do I know that I have been registered for a regular meeting?
Registered attendees will receive a gmail invitation at the email address provided in the Meeting Registration form within 48 hours.

5. What should I do if a meeting registration is closed?
Please note that seating is limited to a first come, first served basis. For regular monthly meetings, you can check with the registration desk on the day of the meeting and inquire as to availability.

*Note: Special meetings will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. How do I obtain a copy of meeting hand-outs and/or presentation slides?
Hard copies of meeting hand-outs and/or presentation slides will no longer be available at the regular monthly meetings. Registered attendees will receive an email attachment with the meeting materials prior to the meeting date. ORCA Members may access the ORCA Presentation Archive through the Members Only area of our website.

7. What type of certification is available?
ORCA provides credits that can be applied towards Regulatory Affairs Certification. If a different type of certification is required, please contact us at info@orcanw.org

8. How do I obtain a RAC certificate for a previously attended meeting?
Please send your request to info@orcanw.org and provide the date of the meeting you attended. Upon confirmation of your attendance, we will provide you with a copy of the RAC certificate for that meeting. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing of your request.

9. How do I give feedback on a meeting I attended?
Meeting Evaluation Forms are available at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/. You may also contact us at info@orcanw.org with your feedback.

10. How do I submit topic or speaker suggestions to the ORCA Board for consideration?
ORCA always appreciates input regarding its program development, please send your suggestions to info@orcanw.org

JOB LISTINGS
1. Who can post job listings on the ORCA website?
Among other benefits, the ORCA membership offers unlimited job postings for the membership year.

Please note that, at this time, ORCA can only accept and post employment opportunities that you provide to us from your current employer. We will not accept job listings from employment agencies or other commercial employment service providers.

2. How do I submit a job listing?
If you are an ORCA Member already and would like to submit a job, please send the job description to info@orcanw.org
