An ORCA Lunch and Learn Event- Generative AI Advancements in Healthcare and the Future of Regulation
About this event
TOPIC: Generative AI Advancements in Healthcare and the Future of Regulation
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have led to the public introduction of generative AI models (GenAI) that take user prompts as inputs and are capable producing new content, such as text, images, videos, music, code, data, or 3D renderings as outputs. This may also be referred to as multimodal AI. The application of GenAI in healthcare settings has transformative potential, across all aspects of the ecosystem. However, this technology also poses unique risks and considerations, especially within the critical context of patient care. We will discuss the current efforts of scientists and regulators to develop a framework for safe and trustworthy development and use of Gen AI in healthcare.
