Topic: So you Want to Learn Drug Development?
A Career in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs
A personal journey into the field of Biomedical Regulatory Affairs
and the UW BRAMS program
Speaker Bio: For the past thirty years, Dr. Rose has worked in or with the biotechnology sector, where she gained extensive experience in biomedical product development in multiple therapeutic areas. This experience included participation on four successful drug development teams, two of which resulted in marketed products for the treatment of cystic fibrosis and two for hemostasis. As a founding member of the ITHS Drug and Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), she has also helped many academic product development teams navigate the FDA and clinical development processes. These experiences led Dr. Rose into a faculty position with the UW School of Pharmacy, where she teaches biomedical regulatory affairs skills for the Biomedical Regulatory Affairs Master in Science (BRAMS) program. Outside of the ITHS and UW Pharmacy programs, Dr. Rose is Chief of Scientific Administration for the Benaroya Research Institute where she oversees research compliance, clinical research operations, and business development.
Dr. Rose earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego. She received a doctorate from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Her primary basic and clinical research experience is in the field of immunology, with emphasis on autoimmunity, infectious disease and immuno-oncology.
